A ten hour day at Bakehouse Studio 1 in North Fitzroy with one of our in-house engineers starts from $500.
On an hourly basis, starting at $55 per hour with one of our in-house engineers. Junior engineers are also available at a $50 per hour.

Approved engineers can use the studio for $350 for a ten hour day. Engineers who haven't used the studio before will be required to pay a $50 technical support fee for and in-house engineer to come in and help get set-up.
Record to tape! A lovely warm-sounding tape machine can be hired for $50 per day. Recycled tape for the 2-inch machine can be hired for $70 a reel, or you can buy new tape from around $250 a reel.

CALLUM JOHN BARTER
Recording with Callum at Bakehouse starts from $55 per hour.
Callum is our wonderful in-house/freelance engineer and has been working for us for over two years. He has worked with a great range of bands and artists including British India, Dan Sultan, You Am I, The Beasts of Bourbon and The Pictures to name a few. Some of his recent recordings at Bakehouse include The Gentlemen Of Fortune (members of The Drones and Dallas Crane), Black Pony Express, Sailors and Swine, Chris Cavill, Amy's Theory, Leisure Class, Final Warning, Steve Boyd and Kristy Lewis. Cal refined his chops at Melbourne's RMIT several years ago, and has been heavily involved in the music biz ever since. As well as playing in three bands: Gun Street Girls, Ancient Free Gardeners, and Dishevelled Gentlemen, Cal can also be seen regularly mixing live bands such as British India, Big Scary, Georgia Fields, Houlette, Magic Dirt, James McCann and The Dirty Skirts, Black Pony Express, Jess McAvoy, Chris Cavill and The Long Weekend.

SIMON COTTER
Recording with Simon at Bakehouse starts at $50 per hour
Simon is a recent graduate of RMIT's Sound Art degree and has spent the last 4 years recording, producing and designing sound. He has worked in the studio with bands, acts and music collectives as diverse as Wild Dog Creek, Playwrite, Fallopian Tunes, Dead City Ruins, Kristian M Roberts as well as his own music project, Document Swell.
As well as music recording and production, Simon has extensive experience in sound design for film and video games. He was recently part of the sound design team for Blue Tongue Games' 'Marvel Super Hero Squad' Nintendo Wii game, and has worked on various film, adverts and animations. Simon is a creative and open minded engineer, who is not opposed to working with all types of artists.
JULIAN WAWRUSZAK
Recording with Julian at bakehouse starts from $55 per hour.
Julian is one of our freelance engineers and can be hired for recording at bakehouse. He started out as studio engineer at Metropolis audio where he worked for 18 months before beginning his freelance career. Bands that Julian has worked with include John Mayer, the Dandy Warhol's, Stevie Nicks, Stereo MC's, Thirsty Merc and Split Enz. Julian has countless experience working with music broadcast live to air TV such as Hey Hey its Saturday.
As well as playing in bands around Melbourne, Julian also dabbles in a little live mixing.

TIM JOHNSON
Recording with our senior engineer/producer Tim Johnson is at a negotiable price.
Tim is considered a world class engineer and his list of credits include; Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Badloves, Even, The Cruel Sea, Even, The Spazzys, The Waifs, Lisa Miller and Tex Perkins, Stereophonics and more. Tim has also worked on sound production for advertising and film, as well as lending his considerable talent to drum programming and various post-production projects.
It is rumoured that Tim is quite a piano player, as well as a lecturer to budding sound engineers at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Tafe.
